WORKING OF MOBILE PHONES
Before mobile phones, we had telephones. If we want to call somewhere ,a line was setup through which data or voice used to transfer which was a wired connection. For making this process of communication wireless ,there was a need of a device which will receive and transmit the signals.
For example, i want to call someone in mumbai from uttrakhand. so, when i dial the number, it is not possible for mobile signals to carry out signals over large distances . Then we used up the concept of towers.
So, when you speak anything in your mobile phone. Your phone's microphone automatically convert your voice into digital form because your device can only understand digital signals i.e, 0 and 1. These digital signals then goes to mobile antenna (placed inside your phones) and antenna convert these signals into electromagnetic waves or radiowaves that can be transferred through air and reach to its tower. But there are so many towers in every city ,area wise and state wise. These Towers have their particular radius which provide signals to its particular region. The tower to which you receive and transmitt the signals is known as BTS(base transreceiver station). So when your signals which carried by air reaches to its tower, your tower do not have any knowledge and authority of transferring the signals further. Here, all towers or base stations are directly in contact with MSC(mobile switching centre). MSC is established in different cities by different operators who collect all the details of your city ranged mobile phones like your mobile's IMEI number, your location, your balance etc . Your mobile tower give all your mobile information to MSC .These switching centres in different areas are interconnected with each other .They have already all information of yours ,saved in their databases. Their work is just to switch the signals by searching the base station or tower of other person. Automatically these signals reached to the person where we called. Here, no one can decrypt your communication in between the air as these signals are highly encrypted.
