Whenever you operate your phone either watching videos, sending mails, playing games, chatting with someone, listening music, doing arithmetic or logical operations, downloading any application , what make all these things possible. It is all worked by your processor . Usually, 4 things are learned by any computer which are taking input, storing in memory, processing and finally giving output. Here, processing is the main part. It is nothing but a chip or multiple circuit boards in a computer. Processor is the brain of smartphone. Without processor your phone is just a box. As a car is nothing without its engine , likewise processor is most important component in your smart phones. Now here are many questions, how to determine which processor has more speed and accuracy , which processor provide you good performance in battery and gaming , which does not lack and consume less energy. Here are four things on which the speed of a processor depends and those four things mutually depend on each other.
Architecture of a processor is only designed by ARM company. They supply its architecture to all other companies like Qualcom, mediatech, APPLE etc with a license agreement . ARM Cortex-A5, Cortex-A15, Cortex-A57 ,ARM cortex-A77 ,these are basically architectures of ARM company, and these architectures are upgrading year by year gradually .
There are very small small transistors placed in a processor which are lakhs and crores in number. smaller the size of transistor, greater the speed of processor and better battery performance. so, we
can say 10 nm(nanometer) technology based processor is better than 14nm technology based processor. The size of transistor is maintained as per the architecture is given to a processor.
Speed of a processor is measured in GHZ(gigahertz)
1 GHZ means 100 million tasks or operations in one second.
Core is a unit of a processor . Lets understand it with an example, suppose i can build a house in 4 hours but if i call my friend to do the same task together , it will take half time which is 2 hours . Likewise, a processor distritribute the work among the cores to do multitasking. Greater the cores in any processor, the more effeciency in work will be shown. We have dual core , quadcore , octacore processors. Note that processor with more cores is good when it has good architecture and technology, you cannot depict any processor's efficiency only by one good reason.

What are processors? How can we judge any processor's efficiency , while buying a smartphone?
